First Aid and CPR Courses Available
CPR training courses are available in three levels: “A”, “C”, and “HCP”. Each level has its own St Mark James certificate. As per the latest guidelines from the American Heart Association, all CPR classes include automated external defibrillation (AED) training. AEDs are advanced machines that provide electrical shocks to heart rhythms that need “restarting” such as ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation.
Private CPR Classes
Stand-alone classes for CPR and first aid are also available if you do not want to enrol in the full course. Private classes are usually offered to big groups of trainees or companies, so if you want to inquire about booking a private class, click the link to the Ottawa First Aid website.

Did You Know?
Joint dislocation
We often see this in athletic injuries or falls. A dislocation happens when the ball in a “ball and socket” joint pops out of the socket. This is extremely painful and can cause irreversible damage if untreated. Common areas of dislocation are the shoulders and knees. In children, the most common area is the elbow. Seek medical help if you experience a dislocated joint.
