Chest compressions should be at least 2 inches deep and allow enough time for the chest to recoil.

CPR training courses have three levels with a specific St Mark James certificate for each level. All CPR classes include automated external defibrillation (AED) training. AEDs are machines that are attached to the chest and apply needed shock to restart the heart.

First aid classes are included in all CPR course levels but stand-alone classes for either are available. Skill training is an important component of a training program. A lot of class hours are spent honing different first aid and CPR skills such as rescue breaths, chest compressions, wound care, and many more.
