Did You Know?

Electrical shock

Different factors affect injuries caused by electrical shock. Faulty wiring and accidents like storms and strong winds can cause a person to be injured by shock. However, type the current, the strength of the voltage, where and how the current traveled through the body, the person’s health, and length of exposure to the shock all affect the injury received. The time between the acquisition of the injury and medical attention greatly affects the severity of the injury as well. A person may experience cardiac arrest, arrhytmias, lung failure, muscle pain, muscle contractions, burns, seizures, numbness, tingling, and loss of consciousness. Be sure to get checked out in an emergency medical facility after experiencing electrical shock.
